Building a Foundation for the Future

Lifesteps Children Services programs

August 27, 2015
A child’s brain is 90% developed by age 5, making the early years a crucial time in a child’s development and solidifying the importance of early education. Through participation in high-quality early education programs children are more likely to advance grades and have improved social skills as they head into kindergarten and beyond. These factors make selecting an early education and/or child care program so important for parents.

As a nonprofit organization with a 90-year history of caring for children, Lifesteps understands the important decisions parents will make for their child. “We encourage parents to tour our early education center and observe our child care professionals as they interact with children,” explained Kristi Maggi, Supervisor of Children Services at Lifesteps Beaver Center.

The agency has a well-respected reputation in western Pennsylvania for providing services to children of all abilities, including those with special needs. Last year 98% of parents/caregivers rated Lifesteps Early Education Center quality of service as Excellent – Good, illustrating the quality of programming and staff.

A caring, nurturing and learning environment is the foundation of children’s programming at Lifesteps, encouraging development of the “whole child.” With locations in Beaver and Butler, highlights of the Lifesteps Children Services programs include:

  • Licensed child care for children of all abilities ages 6 weeks to 5 years
  • Available on a full- or part-time basis with extended hours
  • Preschool included with child care at no additional cost
