CCBC Summer Youth Camps

Join us for a sensational summer season of new and exciting camps!  All instructors possess child clearances and have backgrounds working with youth and teens. CCBC – it’s where learning and fun meet! Also, CCBC is offering 8 scholarships for a full week of Summer Camp for students ages 6-16. The scholarship application is here. Ace Aviator Flight CHLD01201 $165  
Campers will learn the principles of flight by “flying” using a flight simulator, creating gliders to use in a competition, designing and launching bottle rockets, checking out aircraft instruments, using aeronautical maps, and taking a behind-the-scenes tour of local aviation facilities.  Graduates will receive Ace Aviator Certificate and pizza on graduation day!  BONUS:  During the week or after camp, parents can schedule a REAL 30-minute student flight for an additional $30 (2 in a plane) or $60 (1 in a plane).  Ages 9-15.  M-F, 8/1-8/5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  ASC (Chippewa), Room 121.  

American Girl Spa Party CHLD17901 $155
You’ll adore what we have in store for you and your doll this summer:  pedicures, manicures, facials, hair styling & hair flowers, no-bake cookie making for a tea social, table setting & etiquette, jewelry making, and more.  Join the Pampered Camper Club!  BONUS:  Walking Taco Party on last day!  Ages 6-11.  M-F, 8/8-8/12, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  HSC, Room 6023B.  

Crazy Chemist STEM $175
How do they make fireworks so colorful?  How do diapers absorb so much “stuff”?   Do greenhouse gasses come from greenhouses?   Grab your goggles, lab coat, test tubes, and beakers to find out!  You’ll learn answers to these questions and many more in this exciting, hands-on science camp.  Each day, plan to roll up your sleeves to perform mind-blowing experiments!  M-F, 1-4 p.m.

Go Fly a… DRONE! CHLD18601 $475
Meet the exciting future of drones (a.k.a. unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs) in this hands-on, one-of-a-kind camp.  Campers will learn the science behind these airborne marvels from a drone expert as they discover key concepts about airframes, mechanical systems, aerodynamics, and how these apply to drones.  Students will build and fly their own radio-controlled drone that they will take home with them. Includes $265 drone kit!  Must register by 6/10.  Ages 10-15.  M-F, 6/20-6/24, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ASC (Chippewa), Room 121.

GoPro: Wanna Be a Hero? CHLD18701 $175
Learn how to tell a digital story while working collaboratively in a small, energizing, and innovative learning environment with personal instruction through all steps of the GoPro digital storytelling process.  The fun starts with scriptwriting, storyboarding, audio/video techniques, and editing.  Then, you can invite your family and friends to celebrate with a final sharing/screening event.  Ages 9-12.  M-F, 7/18-7/22, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  VFC, Room 3111.  

HOOP It Up Basketball!  $125
Spend a week in CCBC’s awesome basketball dome as you’re challenged in a competitive and inclusive atmosphere through games and scrimmages.  Your college coach will teach drills geared towards learning and fine tuning ball handling, shooting, defensive concepts, transitional offense, passing and finishing through contact.  Please wear tennis shoes (preferably basketball) and bring a size-appropriate basketball, water bottle, & white t-shirt.  M-F, 7/25-7/29.  AEC (Dome).

Minecraft: Builders & Coders CHLD16201 $125
What’s amazing about Minecraft is that kids learn programming without even realizing it!  They’ll learn about loops, showing how text can print to the screen from a loop, and build staircases and other objects using their new skills.  They can visualize what’s happening and use their creativity to decide what to do next.  Kids will learn and use coding too!  Ages 11-15, M-F, 6/27-7/1, 1-4 p.m.  STC, Room 4022.

Minecraft: Redstone Creation CHLD16001 $185
Campers who like creating will love using redstone components to invent some very cool gadgets.  In this redstone to breadboard class, you’ll learn real world electronics and apply them to real world LED's, resistors, buttons, and more.  You’ll receive an electronics kit containing all the parts you need for the camp plus enough to take home after the camp to continue creating!  Must register by 6/17.  Ages 7-11.  M-F, 6/27-7/1, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  STC, Room 4022.

YouTube 101 CHLD18801 $185
Create share-worthy video content in a small, imaginative studio and lab that ensures professional instruction and encourages group collaboration in all aspects of digital filmmaking for your social media story. Four days of video content creation focuses on writing for the screen, photomatics, audio techniques, camera tricks and editing.  Invite your family/friends to enjoy your first screening on social media the last day.  Ages 12-16.  M-F, 7/25-7/29, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  VFC, Room 3111.
