Youth Sports Fitness Classes Starting in December

December 10, 2016
Let's get kids more active and fit! Youth fitness classes will be taught each week indoors in Beaver County starting in December. The classes are for ages 7-10 and 11-15.

Kids today are often taught a specific sport such as soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, etc., but lack a solid foundation of fitness skills to perform at a higher level. The fitness classes will focus on things such as agility, balance, coordination and speed. Resistance training and body weight exercises will be introduced to establish lower body, core, and upper body strength. And of course, many games will be mixed in to ensure the kids have fun while learning to exercise properly. Kids need to have fun while learning and will enjoy the variety of fitness games while they are exercising.

Youth exercise has many benefits such as:
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Improved sport performance
  • Building greater self-esteem
  • Healthier, stronger muscles
  • Helps prevent or delay chronic illness such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc.
The cost of the weekly session is $20 and will include:
  • 1 hour of fitness training
  • Weekly challenges communicated to the parents so that the kids can practice at home throughout the week
  • Discussions and reading material of overall health and nutrition.
Classes are forming now, so contact Coach Duane at 412-607-3544 or duane.hardek@gmail.com to discuss available days and times.
