So, what's a Skylander? They're special action figures that come to life in the Skylanders' video game. Just take a Skylander, place it on the Portal of Power base and BOOM! the Skylander will come to life in the game.
There are over 30 Skylanders, each with unique abilities and powers. Here's Spyro, sitting on the base that allows each figure to be in the game. Spyro's a purple dragon who can fly and can breathe fire. As you can see, he's not only the portal for his character to enter the Skylanders' world, he's also a real toy!

You can take your Skylanders over to your friend's house, drop them on their Portal of Power and your Skylanders will come to life in the game!
