Summer Reading Programs

At your local library

June 7, 2012

Don't forget your local library when you're considering fun, educational, and FREE activities for your kids this summer!  The library has lots to offer. Here are some of the programs being offered this summer:

  • Read-To-Me Club:  For pre-readers
  • Independent Reading Club:  for kids up to age 12. Read books, earn prizes! You can sign up online!
  • Summer story time (story hour dates and times will also be announced in Beaver Valley Mac Kid)
  • Battle of the Books:  available at Beaver, Beaver Falls, and Aliquippa libraries, for kids who will be in grades 3-9 in the fall. Read books and challenge kids from other libraries to see who can answer questions about the books you've read! Battle will be hosted by the BVIU on August 2! This is a great summer activity!

You can sign up for the Read To Me Club or the Independent Reading online at your local library's website.  Library locations and links to their sites are here at the Beaver County Library System's new website:  http://www.beaverlibraries.org/.
