Fall Events and Halloween Haunts!

Looking for some fall fun?

Here's the Beaver Valley Macaroni Kid Fall Events and Halloween Haunts guide for September 2013. (Next week I'll include October events too, so if you don't see an event listed, that's probably why.)  Feel free to leave a comment at the end or send me an email at danah@macaronikid.com if you know of something that's going on in Beaver County (in September) that I should include.

Fall Fun Events and Pumpkin Patches
In order of date

YMCA Fall Festival
Saturday, September 21 from 12 - 2 p.m.
Come and enjoy an afternoon at the YMCA.  You'll be making crafts, decorating pumpkins, eating snacks and so much more. Free to both members and non members! Preregistration is required! Spaces are limited to 100. This is a free community event for both members and non-members.

Truck Touch
Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clinton Park
All sorts of vehicles, including a school bus, fire engine, bucket truck, construction truck, and more, will be there for the kids to climb on and explore. There will be a NO HORN TIME between 11a.m. and 12p.m. for children who don't like the noise. Fun activities, food, and drinks. It's free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Western Allegheny Community Library. Click here for more info.

Erntefest Harvest Festival
Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, September 22 from noon to 5 p.m. at Old Economy Village
See how the Harmonists celebrated the harvest and prepared for the long winter. Craftsmen will demonstrate how to churn butter, make apple schnitz, press apples for cider, and more. Enjoy site tours, Harmonist music, food, and dozens of family-friendly activities. Admission cost: $12 Adults, $9 Seniors,$5 Children, <3 Free. Click here for more info.

Head Start Children's Fair
On Saturday, September 28, come out to the Lodge at Brady's Run Park for the 2nd Annual Head Start Community Resource Fair! It's from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. and there's a full slate of events, including free food and drinks, face painting, tour a Fire Truck, crafts and games.

Haunted Events
Editor's note: I have some age levels listed for these events. Some are very kid-friendly and some are not. If you have any questions, please contact these places and ask them what ages they suggest could participate. And here's an article about this topic.

Haunted Mini-Golf at The Windmill
When:  September 22 through November 3. Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. at the Windmill in Hopewell.
Try to avoid Monsters, Ghosts, and more as you play through 18 holes of haunted mini golf. Ice cream and food is available. Live actors every night! Play miniature golf with glow-in-the-dark golf balls! Cost:  $12 adults, $8 children 12 and under. Click here for more info or call 724-375-5350.
 
Freddy’s Haunts
When:  7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27 (Starts Sept. 20) at 192 McCune Road, Independence Township. Follow the Freddy’s signs from the Aliquippa exit of Route 376. For older kids and adults. Open rain or shine! Cost: $12  For information click here or call 724-378-4073.
