Junior Tennis Clinics in Hopewell

Tuesday evenings for kids 5-12

July 24, 2014
Junior tennis clinics have started on Tuesday evenings for the next few months in the Hopewell area. The clinics are one hour long, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and focus on kids learning tennis in a fun environment. The cost is $10 per week, per child.

The clinic is being taught by Duane Hardek, a PTR-certified 10 and under tennis coach, and Erin Grow, the Hopewell High School Girls' and Boys' Varsity coach. The clinic is planned to be held at the Hopewell Memorial Junior High courts along Brodhead Rd, but they are in the process of being resurfaced, so the first few clinics are being held at the Central Valley High School tennis courts.

The coaches will use age-appropriate equipment, such as low-compression balls, to help kids understand scoring, rules, etiquette, game play, and general skills. Kids will learn fundamental skills through games and fun drills, and will also have the opportunity to have matchplay each week.

No racquet? No problem! Racquets will be available at the court, and the coaches can help kids pick one out that's just the right size.

Clinics will be held Tuesday nights. Kids can attend every week, every other week, or whenever they're available. If you’re interested, just fill out this form so that the coaches can get an idea of how many kids are interested in attending. They'll contact you with more information.
