Outdoor Yoga from Sangha Center for Yoga and Wellness

Plus family yoga and yoga for kids!

August 21, 2014
As we head into the last part of summer, you may feel that you’d like to do something . . . that’s a little different. Sangha Center for Yoga and Wellness in Beaver has just the experience for you that you can try by yourself, with friend, or with your family! Sangha offers outdoor yoga and other programs throughout August in a safe, noncompetitive environment.

Yoga in the Park
If you’d like to take advantage of the summer weather, Sangha offers an outdoor yoga class in the park at the corner of River Road and Beaver Street. This class is for all levels, so feel free to enjoy this outdoor class while the weather is still nice! This is a donation class, and the suggested amount is $5-$10. Parents—there’s a playground at this park, so consider bringing your kids.

This class is offered on Sundays at 3 p.m., and you should bring a beach towel or mat. (Class will be cancelled if it rains.)

Summer Classes for Kids and Family in Beaver County
Sangha also offers classes for parents and kids. They’re not outside, but they are worth mentioning, because one of classes, Yoga For All, is a good choice for a parent to bring their child to a class while enjoying summer time fun together. If you’d like to sign up for this class, just be sure that your child can remain on their yoga mat for an hour without interruption.

A kids’ yoga class is usually offered once a month for children ages 4-9. Parents must remain at the yoga studio during this time. Kids will learn poses, play games, and hear stories.

YoKid’s Yoga Teacher Training in Beaver County
Sangha is offering training programs for those interested in teaching yoga to kids from ages 5-18. These classes teach yoga philosophy for kids, plus they include specialized training for those teaching K-5th grade and 6th-12th grade. Participants will learn how to teach traditional and non-traditional poses and will learn stages of child development to ensure appropriate instruction. If you’re interested in attending any of these programs, find out more on Sangha’s website or take a look at their calendar of events and class schedule.

New Location and Construction Update
Sangha Center will be moving to a new (but close) location soon in downtown Beaver, above Waffles Inc. If you’re traveling into Beaver over the next few months, remember to allow some extra time to park.
