Here’s what I like about this iPad app:
- It’s super easy to use—for both adults and kids. My 8-year-old took the iPad from me, opened the Creatacard™ app, and started creating a greeting card. I didn’t even have to tell her what to do, and the process is reinforced by step-by step audio prompts, too.
- It has great tools! You can choose from different drawing tools, including a crayon, paint brush, pencil, chalk, and spray paint to color in a background. There are text tools with different fonts, tons of stickers to decorate with, and you can even add a picture from your iPad to personalize it even further. Just swipe through the palette of each drawing tool to pick the exact color that you want, and then press one button to return to the tools. There’s no mess, no glue, no glitter, no markers.
- You can personalize or create cards from scratch. Personalize an already-made card (birthday, holiday, any special kind of day) from a pre-designed template and add a name and message. Or, your child can design a card that’s completely theirs. They can even sign the back of the card. The Pick-A-Card option has characters like Thomas the Tank Engine, Hello Kitty®, and Strawberry Shortcake™!
- Done? Just send it out. Login to your account, pick your child’s card, put in the name and address of the lucky person who is getting the card, and pay. You’re done! Your card can be mailed anywhere in the world.
If you’re looking for a great way to create cards for Grandparents’ Day (on Sunday, September 7), you should give this app a try. (For a timely arrival, send it before August 28.) Your kids will have fun creating a card and their grandparents will love getting a work of art!
Here's what the screen looks like.
