Science Center to Present Classes Just for Preschoolers

Little Learners to Get a Head Start on Science

September 18, 2014
Carnegie Science Center is offering special programming for the smallest scientists this fall, with Preschool Semesters and Preschool Adventures.

At Preschool Semesters, children ages 4-5 visit the Science Center on Thursdays from 10 am to noon to dig into important science topics, enhance their social skills, and have tons of fun.

The first Preschool Semester session, “Sporty Science,” runs on Sept. 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16, and 30. It teachers little learners about nutrition, safety, and the physics behind sports. Students will design their own team jersey, make a sports diorama, and create a body profile.

The second Preschool Semester session, “Lights, Camera, Action!,” runs on Nov. 13 and 20, and Dec. 4, 11, and 18. The class will teach children about the science in their favorite kid’s movies. They’ll become LEGO engineers, explore the rainforest, and take a journey to a frozen land to paint with shimmery snow.

At Preschool Adventures, children ages 3-5 bring along an adult helper on Mondays from 1 to 2 pm for themed activities, as follows:

Oct. 6 – Things That Go!
Oct. 27 – The Science of Toys
Nov. 10 – Pumpkin Adventure
Dec. 15 – Gingerbread Engineers
